Saving Cities

Welcome to the Saving Cities podcast. In each episode, a member of our team hosts a conversation with an expert in a place-related field, from Accessibility to Zoning, and everything in between.

Join us at host Jack Storey (Saving Cities, Proud Places) hosts a conversation with Emily Wazlak, Founder/CEO of Shine Registry, a platform for business owners and entrepreneurs to ask for startup needs in the style of a wedding registry. You can ask for a gravy boat when you’re getting married - with Shine Registry you can ask for office supplies and network connections when you’re starting a business. Her company is changing the way communities show up for people they care about and reimagining the relationship between women and ambition. You can learn more from her pre-pandemic TEDx Talk.

There are over 300 female founders that use Shine Registry. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the site has become a part of contingency planning for small business owners, and Shine Registry has launched a series of virtual business showers. Shine Registry is working towards relaunching their site with improved features in early fall.
